Der Auftritt der 22-jährigen "Amanda Gorman" am 20. Januar 2021 inspirierte mich, dieses Gemälde zu erstellen. Die Schriftstellerin und Aktivistin trug das Gedicht "The hill we climb" zur Amtseinführung von Joe Biden vor. Sie hatte es textlich den Ereignissen nach dem Sturm auf das Kapitol in Washington am 6. Januar 2021 angepasst.

Das Kapitol der Vereinigten Staaten ist der Sitz des Kongresses von Amerika in Washington. Es ist mit 3-5 Millionen Besuchern im Jahr eines der populärsten Tourismusziele des Landes. Erbaut und erweitert wurde es in den Jahren von 1793 bis 1863. Es ist 229 Meter lang, bis zu 107 Meter breit und an seiner höchsten Stelle 88 Meter hoch.

The appearance of 22 year old "Amanda Gorman" on January 20th, 2021 inspired me to create this painting. The writer and activist read the poem "The hill we climb" at the inauguration of Joe Biden. She had adapted the text of the events after the storm on the Capitol in Washington on January 6, 2021.

The United States Capitol is the seat of the Congress of America in Washington. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country with 3-5 million visitors a year. It was built and expanded between 1793 and 1863. It is 229 meters long, up to 107 meters wide and 88 meters high at its highest point.
